Elevation Bible Church seeks to improve the quality of life and opportunities for all God’s people. We intend to be agents of change in people’s lives, particularly in conditions that are unjust, isolating, and disempowering. The church shall engage in ministries to eradicate poverty by partnering with and empowering those in need. We believe that the job of the church is not entirely to provide aid to the poor who is responsible (1 Thessalonians 3:10), but also to be a source of empowerment and equipping so these responsible poor learns to create wealth. We aid the poor to reform their thinking about wealth. We don’t give out money as this makes them think that they can come again in the following days to get more money. The church needs to actively offer a biblically responsible form of assistance on a temporary basis while enabling the people to take responsibility in providing for their own families.
